So, we took our first major step towards realizing our dream of building an Earthship. Well.., we didn’t buy any land or something dramatic like that.

But we did visit a real, life size and beautiful Earthship…

After a very long drive with George we made it to L’Alcúdia where Lisa led us to the Earthship where we stayed for a couple a days.

Due to the heat and our inability to pack properly (we didn’t bring any work clothes) we didn’t actually do a lot of work. But, we did do something.., we helped with the shit-storage-and-turn-it-to-water-system (I can’t think of the correct name).

Other than that we spend our time with very important business. We talked a lot, about Earthships, about politics, about music and about living the good live.

Luckily for us the town had it’s yearly Fiestas.., and we could taste the happy and party spirit of the Valencianas. We enjoyed local customs, ate a wonderful vegetarian Paella (made by Oscar) and drank cheap wine and good beer. It certainly was a wonderful time.

But, most important, we got see and somewhat experience an Earthship. And this settled it for us, we want one, for sure.
We’re also quite sure we want to live in Spain, just not sure on where. Obviously it will be nothing short of a Quest to find the right location…

Anyhoo.., we want to thank Lisa, Oscar and Carla (and Luka and Sac*) for a great and very informative time, wish them a lot of good fortune with the last leg of their build and we most definitely will visit them again (hopefully in Spring 2008).
